The latest official data showed that China's raw coal output edged down in July 2012 for the first time in 2012 on a monthly basis, as large scale production cuts by miners starting from June 2012 have shown effect.
Data released by relevant government authority showed that in July 2092, China produced 340 million tonnes of raw coal, dropping 2% MoM from the previous month but still up by 5.8% YoY.
Coal output in the first seven months of 2012 amounted to 2.31 billion tonnes, an increase of 7.3% YoY, 50.9% of which or 1.18 billion tonnes were produced by key state owned mines.
