According to the data issued by the Price Supervision Center of China National Development and Reform Commission, in July this year coal prices declined slightly in the Chinese market. The average settlement price of steam coal at the major Chinese port of Qinhuangdao was CNY 689 per tonne in July down by 0.24%MoM.

In July, coal prices averaged at CNY 711 per tonne in the main coal producing provinces in China, decreasing by 0.49%MoM. Specifically, the average price of steam coal stood at CNY 517 per tonne, 0.65% lower than in June, the average price of coking coal was CNY 971 per tonne down by 0.37%MoM, while the average price of coke was CNY 1,535 per tonne down by 2.22%MoM.
