
According to statistics published on www.coalchina.org.cn, the China Coal Price Index (CCPI), a composite index tracking coal prices in China, dropped 2.5 points last week to 179.6 points by July 27.
During last week, power coal prices in China continued declining as power coal stocks at power plants remained high.
However, coal demand saw slight rebound on rising temperature.
The prices dropped by CNY 5 prt tonne to CNY 10 per tonne at Qinhuangdao port, Jingtang port, Caofeidian port, and Tianjin port, and the decline was narrower than previous week.
Meanwhile, coking coal prices in China kept a downward trend last week as some steel plants have suspended production for maintenance.
