It is reported that West Virginia University is leading a coal research program as part of a research project for the US China Clean Energy Research Center.
WVU will lead the coal research part of the program known as US Advanced Coal Technology Consortium. Over the next five years they will be working with two other Universities and several other partners to study clean coal technology and carbon capture technology.
Even though it could take a while to implement new ideas, officials say the impacts could be great. This project is part of a three part energy efficiency consortium agreed on by the Presidents of the United States and China.
