Ukrainian media reported that Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine will present a coal industry development program till 2030 in late October.

Mr Boiko said “We acquire the Shell company technology. This technology has been tested in 15 Chinese companies. Three enterprises at the cost of China Development Bank we will build in Ukraine. One in Luhansk region, one in Donetsk region and one in Odessa region.”

He said “We were working out this mechanism for almost a year and by the end of November we will sign the loan agreement for the project. And, in addition, we plan to transfer thermal power plant to coal fuel.”

He added that the country's economic security now depends on the involvement of the coal industry.

He said "For Ukraine today is extremely important energy security and the security of its own energy resources in a situation when imported gas gets more expensive almost every quarter.”
