Accompanied with the demand boom, the outward freight volume of coal in Qinhuangdao Port hits a record high on July 3. Coal shipment increased by 35.14%YoY over 0.646 million tonnes breaking a record high of 0.87 million tonnes on June 9 to rest at 0.873 million tonnes resetting the highest single day throughput.
Qinhuangdao port shipped 0.469 million tonnes on July 2nd and one day after the figure roared ahead by 0.404 million tonnes representing an increase of 86.14%.
Rapid increase in coal throughput is closely related to closure and reopening of Qinhuangdao Port, which came across a short time fog closure on July 3. During the previous five days, daily freight volume all plunged due to the heavy fog. When the weather turns better, the release of the ship capacity leads to the quick rebound of coal freight volume.
Under the impact of fog closure, coal inventory in Qinhuangdao Port soars significantly. Currently, coal stockpiles jump by nearly 2.4 million tonnes in the last half month.
