
Colombia sees 2012 coal output rising 14pct from year earlier
Bloomberg reported that Colombia, South America largest coal supplier output of the fuel will climb about 14% this year amid mine expansions.
Mr Mauricio Cardenas Mines and Energy Minister said production will rise to 97 million tons from an estimated 85 million tons last year. He said that oil output will rise 18% to an average of 1.1 million barrels a day in December from 930,000 barrels a day last month.
Colombia is South America’s third-largest oil producer.
