
According to Mr Julio Casellio president of Congo Iron SA, Congo Iron SA, a subsidiary of the Australian mining company, Sundance Resources Pty Ltd has invested over FCFA 50 billion in the iron ore mining project on Mount Nabemba in the Department of the Sangha, hoping to produce 35 million tons of iron per year.
Mr Casellio noted after a meeting with Mr Pierre Moussa the Minister of State for the economy that “We have been in Congo for almost four years and we have an exploration site where we are allowed to drill approximately 50,000 metres in the mountains.”
He said that “We are exploiting with 100 workers and if all goes as planned we will be ready to begin work by the end of the year,' he said while requesting for an early release of the operating licence to enable the company start exploitation immediately.”
The company will specialize in exploring, extracting, exporting and marketing minerals as well as other mining products.
