
CORUS will announce its make or break decision on the long awaited new deep mine at Margam within the next few months.
Last year the company was given an exploratory licence to see whether the venture was feasible.
If it was, the steel giant would be able to harvest the rich seam beneath the works, making it less reliant on imported coal.
Now the feasibility study is coming to an end and the company will have to decide whether to go on to the next stage of the process or abandon the idea as cost-prohibitive.
