It is reported that the Electricite De France and China Datang Group jointly submitted a tender to Morocco-based Safi thermal power plant. The two 330MW generators are scheduled to come online in 2012. Datang will contribute technology and construction and EDF operation and guidance.

The EDF have cooperated with Chinese partners in many projects in China. The French giant wishes to intensify its investment and technological cooperation in China. According to an EDF source, the EDF is talking with Datang over the third phase of the Three Gorges hydropower plant. Moreover, the EDF would like to clarify its partnership with Guodian over two 1,000MW generators in Hebei.
