Margaret River residents are anxiously awaiting a final decision on a proposed coal mine near the town as the public submission period draws to a close.
Environmental Protection Authority dismissed the proposal, saying that it was "environmentally unacceptable".
Premier Colin Barnett would not be drawn on when the decision will be made but said that he anticipates that Environment Minister Mr.Bill Marmion will oppose the mine. He added that" Well it's not for me to pre-empt it but the Government supports the EPA decision and that decision was that the coal mine proposed for Margaret River was not environmentally acceptable. I accept their decision, I think it's the right decision."
