POG has announced that CEO Dr Pavel Maslovskiy has been elected a Senator of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament and will be relinquishing his CEO role.

Under Russian law, Senators are prohibited from holding a business office and POG has appointed Mr Sergey Ermolenko as the new CEO. In an earlier role he was responsible for bringing the Pokrovskiy mine into production.

Mr Ermolenko began his mining career in 1974 as an underground miner and shift boss in the Tokur mine, Amur region, working his way up to Head of Operations for the Tokur Mine. New Deputy CEO Mr Martin Smith has been associated with POG for more than 16 years.

Mr Smith commenced his career as a mining engineer at Anglo American.
