Carpentaria Exploration Limited announced the appointment of Dr Neil Williams as a Non-Executive Director effective 1st January 2012 strengthening the Company Board and its geoscientific expertise.

Recently retired as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian government's geoscience agency, Geoscience Australia, Dr Williams has had a distinguished career spanning all aspects of mineral exploration, both in Australia and internationally.

Welcoming the appointment, Carpentaria Executive Chairman, Mr Nick Sheard said "Dr Williams appointment is a real coup for Carpentaria Exploration. His record speaks for itself he has successfully led Australia national geoscience effort for 15 years as well as having driven MIM's international exploration efforts."

Dr Williams' resources industry and management experience would add momentum to the Company growth plans and aid corporate governance.

Before joining the Australian public service in 1991and he spent 10 years in the mineral exploration industry with MIM Holdings where he held several senior positions including Chief Geologist Exploration.
