Western Australian miner Emergent Resources has expanded its footprint in the Murchison-Goldfields, buying into four new tenements near its Beyondie iron ore project.

The deal sees Emergent take a 100% stake in two of the tenements and an 80% joint partnership arrangement with Raven Resources for the other two blocks.

Mr Wolfgang Fischer Emergent's executive chairman said that the purchase of the mixed iron ore and gold tenements will complement the Beyondie project, which is scheduled to begin production by 2013.

He said that "It actually provides opportunities for economy of scale, when we have an iron operation in action, producing in Beyondie, we'll obviously have facilities there that can be used for a gold operation if we have a gold mine there as well.”
