Business Journals reported that a group of environmentalists are threatening to sue Puget Sound Energy and other utilities over alleged pollution violations at the companies' Colstrip coal fired power plant in Montana.

The Sierra Club and the Montana Environmental Information Center said they're going to sue PSE and 5 other Colstrip owners including Spokane based power company Avista Corporation for not installing modern pollution controls at Colstrip required by the Clean Air Act.

Mr Bruce Nilles national director for Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign said that “For too long, Colstrip has been operating as one of the largest polluters in the US fouling our air and water and yet still has no plans to install the modern pollution controls widely in use nationwide.”
