Eskom Holdings Limited's board said that Mr Jacob Maroga is no longer CEO of the company.
Mr Andrew Etzinger spokesman of Eskom said that the board will issue a statement on the subject later.
According to a statement this week by former chairman Mr Bobby Godsell, who has also resigned, Eskom's board accepted an offer by Mr Maroga to resign on October 28th 2009. Mr Maroga then denied tendering his resignation a day later.
Mr Maroga returned to the utility’s head office in Johannesburg on November 9th 20009 for the first time in ten days, resuming duties as CEO.
Mr Maroga on November 9th 2009 wrote a letter to public enterprises minister Mr Barbara Hogan, which was distributed to executive managers at Eskom, affirming his position as CEO and saying that any change in his status must be made by the government.
