Xinhua reported that at least six people are trapped underground after an illegal private coal mine was flooded Tuesday night in East China Shandong province.

The accident occurred at around 9:00 pm Tuesday at Shantou village of Zhaili township of Zibo city. Rescue work is under way and cause of the accident is being investigated.
