
TOI reported that in accordance with new coal distribution policy, Goa Handicraft and Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation has inked an agreement with the Coal India Limited’s subsidiary South Eastern Coal Field Ltd, for a monopoly for coal supply in the state.
Mr Nikhil Desai MD of GHRSSIDC said that the GHRSSIDC is expected to increase its turnover to the tune of IN 10 crore to INR 12 crore per annum through this business venture.
He said initially the coal supply will benefit around 20 small and medium scale industries like steel rolling mills, bakeries all those using coal for their boilers in the state.
Mr Desai added that Goa's requirement is to the tune of 42,000 tonne per annum while we have been allocated 100,000h tonne per annum, which is sufficient,
