According to a circular issued by local government recently, North China’s Hebei province would constrain the number of coal mines at 200 or so by the end of 2012, sources learnt from the provincial land and resources office.

By the end of 2012, the province’s coal mines must achieve annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes following coal mine consolidation.
