According to measures recently released by local safety bureau Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province will not approve new coal mines with annual production capacity below 300,000 tonnes over the next five years.
The province would further strengthen control over the approved under-construction coal mines and shut down those with serious gas accident or disaster that can’t be solved with current technologies. Heilongjiang is one of the main coal producing provinces in China, with 97.06 million tonnes of output in 2010.
