
China Knowledge reported that China Henan Province which has inked cooperation agreement on coal to ethylene glycol project with China National Chemical Engineering Group Corp has again showed its ambition in building the world largest coal to ethylene glycol base in the province.
Mr Zheng Boyang Deputy Director of the State-owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission of Henan said that Henan Coal Chemical Industry Group Co will invest CNY 4.6 billion to build a 200,000 tonnes coal to ethylene glycol project and related supporting facilities in Yongcheng of Henan Province. The annual output of coal-to-ethylene glycol in the province is expected to reach 1 million tonnes.
Mr Zhang said that the Henan Provincial Government will keep on supporting Henan Coal Chemical Industry Group to expand its business outside the province. The government will also help boost the company's annual coal to ethylene glycol output to 3 million tonnes to make the firm the world largest coal-to-ethylene glycol production and research and development base.
Henan Coal Chemical Industry Group is currently in the list of the Global 500 Top Enterprises.
Henan Coal Chemical Industry Group has started coal to ethylene glycol production through cooperating with Tongliao Gem Chemical Co a subsidiary of Shanghai listed Danhua Chemical Technology Co.
