It is reported that more than 800 tonnes of manganese and iron ore have been seized from Orissa's mineral rich Keonjhar district during a week long crackdown on illegal mining.

The seizures took place in Bamebari area, 235 kilometers from here. According to police officer Rajesh Pandit, the manganese was to be moved outside the state.
