
It has been decided that the vehicles transporting ores in Orissa will be specially registered under the Mining Department and modernized tracking system will be fitted on the trucks.
Orissa chief minister Mr Naveen Patnaik reviewed on the working of Project Management Unit in the state. Minister of Steel and Mines Mr Raghunath Mohanty, chief secretary Mr Bijaya Kumar Patnaik, Mining Secretary Mr Manoj Ahuja and Industries Secretary Mr T Ramachandru were present.
As the PMU system is a reliable system, it will be implemented in all mining areas.
It will be implemented in Koida of Sundargarh and Joda of Keonjhar area as Pilot project. The Minister of Mining and Steel and the department Secretary will regularly supervise it. The Mining will be identified through Internet satellite mapping.
The Radio Frequency Identification Device will be introduced in transportation of the minings. The trucks engaged in transporting of mines will be specially registered under Mining department and transmitters will be fitted for tracking the status of the trucks.24 Hours tracking will be done. In the first phase it will be introduced in Joda and Koida area and then it will be extended to all mining areas. It has also been decided to modernize 14 check gates working in
the mining areas.
Odisha Report Sensing Authority, Osisha Computer Application Centre and IDCO software organizations will modernize the check gates and introduce PMU system.
