
It is reported that the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is on track to reach its capped production target of 700 million tonnes in 2010 after its coal jumped to 221 million tonnes in the first four months of this year up by 24.9%YoY.
The region 501 coal mines produce, on average, 1 million tonnes each year. Mines which produce less than 300,000 tonnes have been earmarked for closure, according to China Knowledge Press. Last year, Inner Mongolia produced 637 million tonnes increase of 37% since 2008.
