In the first 9 months of 2009, Iran's iron ore production totaled 19,398,595 tonnes up 2% YoY or up 3% than the target.

According to Public Relations of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, iron ore production of Chadormalo, Gol Gohar, Markazi Iron Ore and other units was 7.186 million tonnes, 5.51 million tonnes, 4.047 million tonnes and 2.655 million tonnes respectively. The country explored 24,103,918 tonnes during the period.
