China National Land and Resource Administration Bureau has announced that geophysical exploration has been carried out on iron ore deposits in the region of Luoji, city of Bozhou at Anhui Province in China. The exploration in question covers an area of 270 square kilometers. Currently, the geophysical side of the exploration project has almost been concluded while the drilling phase has commenced.

The province had 4 billion tonnes of proven iron ore reserves before a new round of iron ore exploration began in 2008. In the two years since 2008, the province has invested approximately CNY 300 million in exploration of iron ore, adding 1.15 billion tonnes of new proven iron ore reserves.
