Projects Today reported that Jayaswal Neco Limited has received approval from the union ministry of coal seeking the grant of mining lease for the Moitra coal blocks in Jharkhand.
The lease, which provides mining rights over an area of 2.9 square kilometer, would be valid for a period of 30 years.
MoC has asked JNL to exclusively use the mined coal for meeting the coal requirements of its 1 million tonne per annum Siltara pig iron plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
More importantly, no coal will be sold, delivered, transferred or disposed off without the prior approval of the Union Government, it has been stipulated.
Following MoC’s approval, the Jharkhand Government will now issue the license to JNL. It plans to start coal production during the current fiscal.
