Karara Iron Ore has used its new integrated mine and rail logistics chain in mid west Western Australia for the first time.
The 85 kilometre rail spur connects the Karara project's new mine to the existing rail network
Mr Tim Netscher CEO and MD of Gindalbie said that the company will no longer have to rely on other companies to transport its ore. He said that Gindalbie is now waiting for the final stages of works at Geraldton Port to be completed before the ore is exported.
He added that "We were hoping to be starting commissioning of that, a couple of weeks delay in doing that, which is pretty minor in relation to the two and a half year construction period.”
