LLX the logistics company of the EBX Group signed a contract with NKT Flexibles for the installation of a production unit for flexible pipe to support the offshore industry in the Açu Superport under construction in Sao Joao da Barra in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Mr Otávio Lazcano CEO of LLX said the signing of this trade agreement marks the birth of the center for offshore support industries at TX2 and confirms the standard of excellence offered by the Açu Superport for companies providing services for the oil and gas industry.

The NKTF unit with the beginning of production scheduled for 2013 will be located on the right bank of the TX2, the onshore terminal project, and will have a production capacity of 250 kilometers of flexible pipes per year in addition to an area for storage and testing of material. The company plans to invest USD 200 million creating 400 direct jobs.

Taking into account the strategic location and the flexibility of its installations, we believe that this site will be the natural hub for the future of the Brazilian offshore oil and gas industry,"

NKTF manufactures flexible pipes for the offshore oil and gas industry, as well as for the chemical sector. With headquarters in Denmark, the NKTF is the third largest manufacturer of flexible pipes in the world. NKTF is a Joint Venture company owned by NKT Holding (51%) and Subsea7 (49%). In May 2011 in Brazil, it signed a contract with Petrobras to the value of UD 1.86 billion for the provision of 694 kilometers of flexible pipe. The Açu Superport unit will have 210 meters of pier-front and a total area of 121,905 square meters.
