
NYK Bulkship Atlantic a wholly owed subsidiary of NYK Line reported that its new 92,330 DWT bulk carrier Federico II, built at Oshima Shipbuilding has secured a contract to transport 9 million tonnes of coal per year from Colombia to Italy over the next 10 years.
The contract, which begins next month is with Enel, Italy’s largest power company and is the first long term contract inked by NYK Bulkship Atlantic for the use of such a large carrier.
Federico II measures 235 meters in length by 43 meters in breadth with a draft of 13.05 meters. With a dead weight of 92,330 DWT she has around half the capacity of the NYK Bulkship Atlantic vessel pictured.
