LogiCamms has been chosen to carry out the initial phase for the upgrade of electrical infrastructure at mining heavyweight Rio Tinto iron ore port assets in Western Australia.
The company landed two design contracts totaling AUD 8.3 million to undertake electrical and control system engineering design to upgrade low voltage substations and associated facilities at Rio Tinto East Intercourse Island and Cape Lambert sites.
The remaining phases of the broader project are expected to include associated electrical construction and operational readiness activities at these sites. While the additional scope of work is within LogiCamms existing capabilities these contracts are yet to be awarded.
Work will begin immediately on the 18 month program covering design and construction works at each site.
LogiCamms has secured contracts with a number of big name resource companies including BHP Billiton, Santos and Eastern Star Gas.
