MMX Mineracao e Metalicos SA and LLX Logistica SA, the iron ore and transportation companies controlled by Brazilian billionaire Mr Eike Batista, said that they haven't reached any agreements to sell assets.
The companies responded to an August 3rd 2010 report in O Estado de S Paulo newspaper that Batista is in talks with ArcelorMittal and other investors to sell his stake in MMX and LLX's Sudeste port in Rio de Janeiro state.
LLX said that it is open to opportunities that may lead to an eventual sale of assets, according to a regulatory filing today. MMX said in a separate filing that it holds talks with companies and banks for possible opportunities on a regular basis.
