Macarthur Coal Limited named a new Board of Directors following the acquisition of Macarthur Coal Limited by PEAMCoal Pty Ltd.

As new members of the Macarthur Board of Directors, the following highly experienced industry leaders will advance the company’s growth and operational objectives:

1. Mr Eric Ford, Peabody Energy Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer who joins the Macarthur Board as Chairman

2. Mr Julian Thornton who has been name Macarthur Chief Executive Officer. Mr Thornton was previously Managing Director of Peabody Energy Australia

3. Mr Michael C Crews, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Peabody Energy

4. Mr Paul Dowd who joins as a Non-Executive Director and he is a 40 year mining veteran who developed businesses and managed mining operations in Australia, the United States, Africa, Europe and Asia

5. Mr John M Spark who joins as a Non-Executive Director and he is a former Managing Partner of Ferrier Hodgson, a Melbourne, Australia-based turnaround, reconstruction and forensics services firm, and a former Global Partner of Arthur Andersen based in Melbourne.

Effective immediately, the Macarthur Board has accepted the resignations from the following members of the board

2. Mr Keith DeLacy
3. Mr Peter Forbes
4. Mr Martin Kreiwaldt
5. Mr Roger Marshall
6. Mr Terry O’Reilly
7. Mr Chen Zeng
