It is reported that board of directors of Midwest Corporation approved the land agreement of Robinson Range mining area with local indigenous people which concludes the arduous negotiation that had been going on for years.

Early in the beginning of this century, Midwest Corporation had started to meet with local indigenous people negotiating with them the land use right of Robinson Range mine zone.

However, the indigenous people put forward many unreasonable requirements and no substantial progress was made till November 15th 2008, when Sinosteel Corporation took controlling stake in Midwest Corporation.

After Sinosteel took the controlling right the pace of negotiation was accelerated. With the assistance of local indigenous layers in November consensus was finally reached between Sinosteel and them and the agreement made is called “JIDI Indigenous Heritage Agreement", which enables Midwest Corporation to carry out exploiting activities and the like. In the same month, the agreement was approved by the board of directors of Midwest Corporation.

Signing this agreement marks the official launch of scientific exploiting activities in Robinson Range mine zone.
