The Ministry of Mines has conducted a detailed review of security arrangements at NALCO’s Damanjodi mines following the attempt by Naxalite elements to attack the explosives magazine.

Secretary (Mines) convened an urgent meeting of the officials of the Ministry, NALCO as well as representatives of Ministry of Home Affairs and CISF which is responsible for security of the NALCO mine area.

It has been decided to implement a number of immediate as well as long term measures for the security of explosives and other sensitive substances in the premises of Ministry’s PSUs. Follow up meetings are also taking place with the State Government.
