
Mongolia to select winners of Tavan Tolgoi stake by end 2009
Reuters cited Dr Ariunsan Baldanjav vice minister of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mongolia while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the China Mining Conference in Tianjin said Mongolia will select the winners of the highly contested Tavan Tolgoi coal mine stake sale by the end of this year.
Tavan Tolgoi which holds estimated reserves of 6.5 billion tonnes of coking coal may be split between bidders from China, Russia and a leading international miner such as BHP.
