
Moroccan utility Jorf Lasfar has issued a tender to buy three 60,000 tonnes cargoes of coal to be delivered in September, October and November this year. Offers will be accepted until June 25th 2012.
The utility is looking for material with a minimum net calorific value of 5,800 kcal per kilogram maximum 35pc volatile matter and a maximum sulphur content of 1.5pc. A large European utility is participating in the tender.
Jorf Lasfar's recent tender for three Panamaxes for delivery in July to September was won with mixed origin coal by a Europe-based trading firm at a discount of around $5/t to the API 2 index.
