Atlas Iron Limited announced that the Atlas Board of directors has unanimously elected Mr Geoff Clifford as independent non executive chairman of the company.

Mr Clifford has been an independent non executive director of Atlas since August 2007 and is chairman of the company's Audit and Risk Committee. From August 2005 until February 2007, he was non executive director of and consultant to Aztec Resources Limited.

Mr Clifford is currently VP of the West Australian State Council of Chartered Secretaries Australia and also non executive director of ASX listed companies Fox Resources Limited, Glengarry Resources Limited and RMA Energy Limited.
