
Indian government owned lignite mining company Neyveli Lignite Corporation’s net profit rose 18.93% and stood at INR 3,421 million for the quarter ended June 30th 2010 as compared to INR 2,876.40 million for the quarter ended June 30th 2009.
Total income has increased 21.43% from INR 1,359.40 million for the quarter ended June 30th 2009 to INR 12,579.20 million for the quarter ended June 30th 2010.
NLC operates the largest open pit lignite mines in India and mines some 24 million tonnes of lignite per year for fuel with an installed capacity of 2490 MW of electricity per year.
