
NRW Holdings Limited announced that the company in joint venture with the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd has been awarded the Car Dumper and Bulk Earthworks contract by Rio Tinto for the Cape Lambert Port B Project.
The contract scope includes bulk earthworks, road works, drainage and miscellaneous civil works together with associated earthworks for future stockpiles and Car Dumper facility.
Works under the contract will commence immediately and have a value of approximately USD 101 million. The contract has an estimated duration of 88 weeks and total personnel from the joint venture partners will be approximately 196. This will be the second project undertaken by the joint venture following the Pannawonica Bridge remedial works which was successfully completed for Rio Tinto in 2010.
Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Cape Lambert Port B project comprises the construction of a new port facility adjacent to the existing Cape Lambert Port.
The Project involves the construction of a new train unloading infrastructure, stockyard, ship loader and wharf together with associated dredging operations.
