China Ministry of Land and Resource announced that Ningxia Autonomous Region in northwest of China found a 550 million tonne coal mine recently.

After explored for almost 10 months, expert team found this large scaled mining area in Tianshuihe of Yinchuan city in east of the province. It will provide timely and reliable support for development of the heavy and chemical industries in Ningdong Coalfield.

Up to now, there are 5 coal seams have been proved, with an average thickness of 13.23 meters. Among the 550 million tonnes of reserve, 140 million tonnes belongs to indicated intrinsic economic reserve and 410 million tonnes as inferred intrinsic economic reserve.

Ningdong Coalfield, is one of China's thirteen 100 million tonne class coal bases, with proven coal reserves of 27 billion tonnes, making up 85% of Ningxia's total coal reserves.
