
Bs reported that mining revenue collection in Orissa has surged 41.15% in the April to October period to reach INR 2497.88 crore compared to INR 1769.62 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
The revenue from the mining sector till October was targeted at INR 2093.50 crore. In the month of October alone, the collection was INR 249.75 crore.
The state has also overshot its mining revenue target in the April to September period of 2011-12. As against the target of INR 1750 crore, the actual collection was INR 2241.29 crore.
Mining revenue clocked in the first two quarters of the fiscal is 51.8% higher than INR 1476.42 crore recorded in the corresponding period of 2010-11.
The Joda mining circle, the epicenter of the state's mining activity, had reported the highest collection at INR 1049.64 crore during April to September followed by Koira circle at INR 358.22 crore.
