OneSteel's Hematite Extension Project has continued to advance with the first ore from the new Iron Chieftain mine recently hauled to the Iron Knob crushing and screening facilities.

Mr Gavin Hobart GM mining resource optimization and development said that excellent progress had been made on the project in recent months. He added that "Mining commenced at Iron Chieftain in September, so this recent milestone represents the next stage in the mine becoming fully operational."

He added that "A lot of work has gone into completing the haul road, clearing the site, developing the pit area, installing communication facilities and completing the run of mine pad, all of which have enabled us to reach this point."
