VIVAnews reported that Aneka Tambang is interested with the mining working area owned by BHP Billiton in Maruwai in Central Kalimantan.
Mr Syah Loebis MD of Antam explained that the company is studying the fitness of the coal mining project development. He said that "We are interested and studying it since the coal produced in the WKP is coking coal."
Nevertheless, Mr Loebis said that the company had yet to give an official offer to the BHP Billiton. He also said that from the seven concessions in Maruwai, Antam has not taken any decision on the WKP number.
Other than that, Antam is also doing a due diligence to acquire a mining authority in one of the WKP. However, he refused to give detailed information.
