European Union's top coking coal producer JSW, scheduled to debut on the Warsaw bourse in July said that it expects coal prices to stay high throughout 2011 due to limited coal supply and high demand for steel.

The coal producer said that "Contract prices for hard-type coal rose to USD 225 per tonne in the first quarter and USD 330 at beginning of second quarter. Prices should remain at high levels throughout 2011."

Last year JSW, region's largest coking coal producer, mined 13.3 million tonnes of coal with 9.1 million tonnes of coking coal.
