Polo Resources released a technical report indicating its Union coal project in Mongolia, contains expected coal deposits of 94.7 million tonne.

The report said that there is an additional 38.4 million tonne of coal believed to be available if mapped during future explorations. The report was compiled following an exploration using 40 diamond boreholes in which 25 coal seams were identified at the Union site.

Officials said the coal at Union is suitable for producing a preferred quality energy coal product for Mongolian and Chinese power markets.

The Union project consists of two mining licenses and three exploration licenses covering 14.6 square kilometers. The mine is located 95 km southeast of Ulaanbaatar and 25 km from a rail loading facility linked to the Trans-Siberian Railway, which provides access to Mongolian and Chinese domestic markets.
