It is reported that power coal market remains flat in Sichuan and power coal demand from power plants remains gloomy. In comparison, coal for producing construction material is enjoying adequate demand.

As Sichuan is soon coming into the high water period, water-generated power will exceed thermal power. Pushed by the reconstruction of the earthquake hit areas, cement demand has gone up which directly pushed up the demand for coal. However, this part of coal takes up only a small portion of all. At present, the average price of power coal in Sichuan remains less than CNY 0.09 per calorie.
