
The Hindu reported that Mr N Janardhan Reddy deputy floor leader of the TDP requested Mr K Rosaiah CM of Andra Pradesh to order a probe into the alleged shifting of iron ore worth INR 500 crore by Obulapuram Mining Company from Andhra Pradesh’s territory into Karnataka illegally.
Mr Reddy said that as the Chief Minister should meet the central leaders and officials concerned on the large scale irregularities being committed by OMC.
He added that the OMC had clandestinely moved about 0.5 million tonnes of iron ore from its mines in the state’s territory to Karnataka for disposing it of when the Forest Department itself had alleged violations by the company owned by Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy and his kin.
