Reuters reported that Czech hard coal miner New World Resources will keep its Sverma coking plant open, despite plans to close it, due to indications of a market upturn.
New World Resources said that "Its board of directors has decided to keep the last remaining battery of the Sverma coke production facility operational in order to benefit from increased coke orders and price improvements seen in the course of the last few weeks."
It said it still planned to close the plant in due course as part of its plan to centralize coking operations.
