
Teck Resources Limited announced that it is resuming full production of refined zinc at its operations in Trail, B C, starting on September 1st.
The Vancouver based company curtailed 5,000 tonnes of production a month from the Trail refinery last December due to the economic slowdown and sent some of its mined zinc to other refineries instead.
It said that the decision to resume full production of 25,000 tonnes a month at Trail comes after strengthening customer demand depleted inventories to minimal levels. And orders from steel mill customers in the H1 of the year are 44% higher than the order rate in the H1 for specific products.
